Traffic and School For the safety of our pupils, we recommend that you drop off your child at the turning point of Postipuuntie/Ruutikuja-road. Children who come to school on a bike must wear a helmet. For more information on traffic and school you can download more information (in Finnish and swedish only) here . School rules Pupils have to be on time for lessons. They are to be fully equipped and their homework has to be completed. Study equipment and school property has to be handled with care. If a pupil deliberately damages school property or the property of a fellow pupil, the damage should be compensated. Sweet, toys and other things not needed for studying should not be brought to school without permission. Teasing, pushing, throwing stones and snowballs and other dangerous activities are forbidden. Accidents which occur at school or on the way to school should be reported to a teacher without delay. Pupils spend breaks in the school yard. Pupils are not to leave the school premises during school hours without a teacher's permission. Pupils arrive and leave school according to their lesson schedules. Pupils should behave well and follow traffic rules on their way to school and back. Pupils may come to school by bicycle with teacher's permission. Bicycles are not to be tampered with unnecessarily. Smoking and using narcotics are forbidden. The teacher should be informed of pupil's absence. Mobile phones should be switched off. School board: Postipuu School has a student board. On a regular basis representatives from the different classes meet with principal to discuss the daily running of the school and the wishes from the children. Peer mediation (Verso): In case of conflicts between pupils the school has a program in which certain children are trained to act as mediators. They will help the children to resolve conflicts and misunderstandings. This way, rather than depending on the teachers, children can learn to solve problems themselves.
